Watching Mad Men, it’s easy to point to the past and pat ourselves on the back: “Look how far we’ve come! We’re so post-feminist, bitches! Corner office! Lipstick for everybody!”

But it really is true, sexism is going away like, super fast these days. I mean, just look at the way pop culture used to engage with the women of Mad Men. This is how Conan O’Brien welcomed Christina Hendricks to his show in February of 2010:

It’s 2012, and so far no man has informed Hendricks that women have never been sexier than in the early ’60s, or referred to her as a bucket of fuck.
